Why Your Eaves Keep Rotting and How to Actually Fix It
The real causes of rotting fascia and sagging eaves on Newcastle homes, and why repainting or replacing the timber alone never solves it.
Service
Rotten fascia and sagging eaves replaced, re-sheeted and ventilated so the problem stays fixed.
Sagging eaves and peeling fascia are almost always a water problem, not a paint problem. Blocked gutters, a failed flashing or missing ventilation let moisture sit against timber until it goes. We find the cause first, fix that, then replace the damaged material, otherwise you are repainting the same rot in two years.
The fascia does two jobs. It carries the gutter and the edge of the roof. Once it goes soft, the gutter brackets pull out, the gutter sags, and every downpour tips over the back edge into your eaves. Patching a length in the middle does not stop that. We take the gutter off, lift the roof edge, replace the fascia in straight runs so the new gutter hangs true and falls to the downpipe, and check old eaves sheets for asbestos before anyone cuts into them.

FAQ
Because the water source was never fixed. Overflowing gutters, a failed flashing or a roof cavity with no ventilation will rot new timber as fast as it rotted the old. We diagnose the cause before quoting the repair.
